Matthaeus 26, 17 - 30

Am ersten Tag der Festwoche, dem Tag der ungesäuerten Brote, kamen die Jünger zu Jesus und fragten: "Wo sollen wir das Passahmahl für uns vorbereiten?"
Er antwortete: "Geht in die Stadt zu dem und dem - er nannte den Namen - und teilt ihm mit: 'Unser Meister sagt: Meine Zeit ist gekommen. Ich will mit meinen Jüngern in deinem Haus das Passahmahl feiern. "
Die Jünger führten den Auftrag aus und bereiteten alles vor.
Am Abend dieses Tages saß Jesus mit den zwölf Jüngern beim Essen.
Während sie aßen, sagte er: "Einer von euch wird mich verraten!"
Erschrocken fragte jeder: "Meinst du etwa mich?"
Jesus antwortete: "Der mit mir das Brot in die Schüssel eingetaucht hat, der ist es.
Der Menschensohn muß zwar sterben, wie es vorausgesagt ist, aber seinem Verräter wird es schlimm ergehen. Es wäre besser für ihn, er wäre nie geboren worden."
Judas fragte wie die anderen auch: "Meister, du meinst doch nicht etwa, daß ich es bin?" Da antwortete ihm Jesus: "Doch, du bist es!"
Während der Mahlzeit nahm Jesus ein Stück Brot, sprach das Dankgebet, teilte das Brot und gab es den Jüngern mit den Worten: "Nehmt und eßt, das ist mein Leib!"
Anschließend nahm er einen Becher mit Wein, dankte dafür und reichte ihn seinen Jüngern: "Trinkt alle daraus!
Das ist mein Blut, mit dem der neue Bund zwischen Gott und den Menschen besiegelt wird. Es wird zur Vergebung eurer Sünden vergossen.
Ich sage euch: Von jetzt an werde ich keinen Wein mehr trinken, bis ich ihn wieder im Reich meines Vaters mit euch trinken werde."
Nachdem sie das Danklied gesungen hatten, gingen sie hinaus an den Ölberg.

Matthew 26, 17 - 30

On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"

He replied, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, `The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.'"

So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.

And while they were eating, he said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me."

They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, "Surely not I, Lord?"

Jesus replied, "The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.

The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."

Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, "Surely not I, Rabbi?" Jesus answered, "Yes, it is you."

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."

Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."

When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
